Delete your account
Last updated: 25 August 2026
You can ask us to delete your HJachi account and the personal information associated with it at any time - or ask us to delete specific data without closing your account. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and what we may be required to keep.
How to request deletion
Choose whichever is easiest:
- In the app - open Account → Delete account and confirm. This works for both clients and practitioners.
- By email - write to privacy@hjachi.com from the email address on your account (or include enough detail for us to verify your identity). No app install is required.
What happens next
- We confirm your request and schedule your data for deletion.
- There is a 30-day grace period during which you can change your mind and cancel the request from within the app or by contacting us.
- After the grace period, we permanently delete your account access and the personal information we hold for your account (such as your name, contact details, sign-in credentials, and device records).
What we may have to keep
Where HJachi holds clinical records on behalf of a practice, that practice is required by professional and legal rules in its region to retain those records for a set period. In that case we retain the minimum information required, separate it from active use, and permanently delete it when the retention period ends. We will tell you what is being retained and why. For requests specifically about clinical records, your practice or provider is the first point of contact.
Delete specific data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove particular information. You can ask us to delete specific data - for example your messages, homework responses, profile photo, contact or emergency-contact details, or device and notification records - while keeping your HJachi account active.
How to request it:
- Email privacy@hjachi.com from the email address on your HJachi account (or include enough detail for us to verify your identity).
- Tell us which data you want deleted and, if relevant, the date range it covers.
- We confirm your request, complete the deletion within 30 days, and let you know when it is done.
What we can delete on request: personal information that is not part of a clinical record, such as messages, homework responses, profile photos, contact details, and device or notification records. Practitioners can also manage and export their practice data directly in the app.
What we may have to keep: information that forms part of a clinical record (for example session notes, transcripts, and assessments) that HJachi holds on behalf of a practice is subject to that practice's professional and legal retention rules and cannot be deleted on request - your practice or provider is the first point of contact for those. We may also keep the minimum information needed for security, fraud prevention, billing and tax records, or other legal obligations. We will tell you what is being retained and why.
